DUTIES and OBLIGATIONS

 

Guild Appraiser's duties and obligations to the Guild, to clients, and to the appraisal profession shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

1) Each Guild Appraiser shall maintain the highest ethical conduct as defined in the most recent version of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP) as written by the Appraisal Foundation.

2) Each Guild Appraiser shall adhere to and follow all the current rules, by-laws and regulations as set forth by the Guild.

3) Each Guild Appraiser shall refrain from all conduct and appraisal practices considered by the Guild to be unethical or unprofessional as defined in USPAP or as set forth in the Guild's rules, by-laws or regulations.

4) Each Guild Appraiser is obligated to provide each client with competent service and an appraisal that meets all the requirements for like appraisals as set forth in USPAP and as set forth in the current rules, by-laws and regulations of the Guild.

5) Each Guild Appraiser is charged with the protection of the reputation of other appraisers.

6) Each Guild Appraiser is charged with the responsibility of reporting any misconduct of another appraiser affiliated with the Guild which, in his/her opinion, violates USPAP or any rule, by-law, or regulation of the Guild.

7) Each Guild Appraiser is obligated to further their knowledge and education relative to valuation and the appraisal profession.

8) Each Guild Appraiser is obligated to accept assignments by the Guild which further the goals of the Guild or benefit the appraisal profession.
