THE INTERNATIONAL APPRAISER'S GUILD, Inc.

The International Appraiser's Guild, "Guild", thanks you for your interest in the Guild. We pledge ourselves to the benefit of both the appraiser and the client. The Guild is dedicated to the appraiser, the client, and the fields of personal property and real estate appraising. We offer education, oversight, and certification in these exciting wonderful fields. We train appraisers and our methods assures the clients that the Guild appraiser has the knowledge, experience, training and ethical awareness it takes to do the job the right way. The Guild is the right choice for both the client and the appraiser.

Guild Appraisers are trained to write appraisals that are accepted by their peers, banks, courts, attorneys, insurance companies, museums, and the IRS, etc. Guild appraisers are prepared to be expert witnesses in matters pertaining to the appraisal profession. Guild appraisers are accepted as expert professional appraisers.

The Guild is the first Appraisal organization located in the USA that offers training in both the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, which is used almost exclusively in the USA, and in the International Valuation Standards, which is used in most other parts of the world. The Guild is ready to help educate and train appraisers for the 21st Century and beyond. The Guild believes that eventually the USA will adopt the Interntaional Valuation Standards, and the Guild is ready to make the migration of USPAP trained appraisers into the International Standards as easy and as professional as possible. If you want to be ready for the international market, or if your want to be ahead of the curve the Guild is the correct choice for you and the client. This makes us ready to meet the needs of International Appraisers and International Clients.

With trained, educated, and experienced appraisers earning as much as $125.00, even as much as $400.00, per hour, appraising has become a very popular and rewarding profession. There's little wonder that there is a demand for training in this exciting, demanding and enjoyable discipline. There should be no mistake about it - it's not easy and it takes time, dedication, experience and education but appraising is a very nice way to make a living. It's a profession with honor, dignity and a very bright future.

The Guild has classes, which offer the education and training required to make an expert appraiser. These classes do not require the member to leave his/her hometown. The Guild allows it's members to study at home and to take the Guild's tests using proctors who live/work close to the member. The Guild saves you money, time and convenience. In a small survey that we have just completed, we found that the Guild's courses and methods of doing business saves its member as much as 75% over other associations. The Guild, however, does not cut corners on its training and education. You get the training you need to understand what it means to be an accomplished appraiser. Guild Appraisers are recognized as experts in their fields.

A professional designation from the Guild is a meaningful accomplishment. The client can and should have confidence in a Guild-trained appraiser. Recognized professional designations that recognize experience and training are important to both appraisers and clients. Understanding the needs of our members, the Guild keeps the cost and expense of accreditation to reasonable limits. The guild emphasizes experience, related education and expertise.

It's the Guild's goal to offer the appraiser education and a code of conduct, which will help each individual maximize their own professional potential. It is our experience that knowledge about the theory, practice and standards of appraising can help the professional take their career to levels beyond their current expectations. To this end, we offer continuing courses of education for the personal property appraiser as well as up-dates on the newest ethical expectations of clients who use our services.

The Guild Appraiser who holds one of the Guild's coveted professional designations is ready to serve the client. Before Guild accreditation, the Guild tests each member's knowledge, reviews appraisal reports submitted by the each member and teaches each individual the principals of thical appraising.

Guild Appraisers have the training and the experience to be experts. The Guild insists that their Appraisers strive to be professionals in all areas of their professional endeavors and at all times. Guild Appraisers are taught that their reports are to be accurate, without bias, and credible. The Guild trains and educates its members to render their services in a manner consistent with nationally accepted guidelines. Guild Appraisers know how to use their skills to the benefit of their client. Guild Appraisers are ready to render expert service to you, the client.

The Guild was established by professionals within the field of antique and collectable sales and valuation, residential personal property liquidation, residential personal property sales, and residential personal property valuation. The management of the Guild is dedicated to the responsible exercise of ethical conduct within the appraisal profession. We believe that the best interests of the appraisal profession will be found in competent, responsible appraisers who exercise their professional diligence in an atmosphere of training, education and dedication.
