THE GUILD

GUILD CERTIFICATION
Recognized professional designations are becoming more important with people who seek personal property appraisals. More and more clients who regularly use personal property appraisers are requiring that appraisers have professional designations and credentials. A professional designation with the Guild can help get your next client. Before the Guild certifies an appraiser, we require a Guild Appraiser to have experience and professional training. Each candidate is carefully examined and scrutinized before being granted one of the Guild's professional designations.

GUILD QUALIFICATIONS

The Guild requires an application from each person applying for membership in the Guild. The Guild in turn examines each application and interviews each new member. The Guild accepts, by virtue of the results of the application examination, only those people for membership who are good citizens and good members of their community. Each Guild Appraiser who earns a Guild designation has completed courses on the principles and theories of appraising, ethics and professional behavior, research and report production and has had reports they have written for clients reviewed by the Guild.

GUILD TESTING

The Guild tests by written examination all members who wish to be granted a professional Guild designation. After the completion of each segment of the course work offered by the Guild, written comprehensive tests are given to everyone taking the course. No Guild designation is granted without the successful completion of the course work as established by these written examinations. As each Guild Appraiser passes through the various courses, a certificate of completion is given to each member as each course is successful completed. The Guild believes that expertise in personal property appraising is obtained by experience, training, knowledge and adherence to a strong code of ethical behavior.
